When I came to EWCS I was lost, I had just left my husband who was an alcoholic and had become very abusive.
My only option was going on Ontario Works so we had some money, which was barely enough to pay my rent so feeding my kids was an absolute struggle. When I went to the food bank, they were able to supply me with food for my kids, clothing from their thrift shop, and school supplies, as we had to leave that all behind. I was so shocked by the support I received from them; I would have never been able to give those things to my kids on my own. I did not have to worry about hearing their stomachs grumble at night because they were hungry. EWCS you were a lifesaver for us, you went above and beyond what was expected. You helped us in so many ways I will forever be grateful! -
While dementia can be isolating, stressful and challenging, the adult day program has been a lifeline for our family.
We cannot thank all the dedicated team members, enough for the incredible work they do. Their commitment to providing exceptional care and creating a joyful, engaging environment is nothing short of a blessing. Our mom's journey with dementia may be full of challenges, but this program has made a world of difference in ensuring that it's also filled with happiness and laughter. -
The volunteer drivers are extremely kind and sensitive to what I need, whether it is to talk, to listen to music or just watch the world go by.
That gives me a feeling of being connected and takes away the feeling that I am alone. What a wonderful gift to any of us who need that! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your service. Without your service, I wouldn’t be able to get to my doctor’s appointments. All of your drivers are the best there is. My life is so much better because of the staff and drivers; it has made such a big difference to me.
